If you look carefully you will see that one is marked "NO" and one is marked "NC". "NO" is "normally open" and means that the circuit is closed when the button is pushed. This is the one you want. The other is "normally closed" and opens the circuit when you push the button.

: There are 3 connectors on each button switch. I know 2 are for the 2 different assignments from my keyboard matrix that will make a certian key. But what is the 3rd connector? Ground or something?
