Button labeling options...

Now that my cab is done, I wanted to put labels on my control panel, so I ordered a button labeling kit from a video game conversion place. The kit contained a sheet of self sticking labels, enough for 20 games! However, even though I have 7 buttons per joystick (it's a HotRod control panel permanently mounted in my cab), MAME plays too many different games for me to figure out a way to label the buttons that makes sense. Can I get some posts on how other people labeled their control panel buttons?
