Diodes installed correctly can stop ghosting, but they will not correct controllers that cannot handle more than X presses concurently (either because of software or trace routing). If you cannot press all the keys you want before you hack the keyboard, diodes probably won't help (I'm not swearing by this, but it makes sense at the moment).
You also have to watch voltage drops. If the signal is routed through too many diodes, it might not be strong enough at the far end.
