Anode suction cup not flat?

I just put a new (well, new to me) vertically-oriented monitor in my cabinet, but when I tried to play something on it, I found the picture was faded completely to black in the bottom half of the monitor. Examining the back of the monitor, I found that the suction cup looking thing over the anode is not flat against the monitor. It looks like maybe the anode got pushed into the tube a little on one side which is causing the suction cup to lip upward a bit. This must be causing some sort of electrical "leak" on that side of the picture.

Can anyone tell me if I can fix and recommend how to fix without killing myself?

Thanks,
ShamanRa
