Well I just used the coin mechs that were already in the machine. Are you builting a cabinet from scratch? Mine is an old defender machine. Older coin mechs are mechanical. No electonics except for the switches. These switches are 'pressed' when a coin is inserted. The switches work just like any of the buttons.... so I just hooked them to the encoder like any other button. I assume that the Roswell cab is about the same. Now I can insert quarters and it gives credits just like the original game. I have pics on my site is you want to see them.

: Hi,

: I looked over the roswell 88201 cabinet project and I'm really interested in what he (Craig) did with the coin slots.

: I'm still in the planning stages, but I thought about putting just the coin slots in my cabinet for the look. The coin mechs are way too expensive and pumping in quarters or tokens in my own home will just feel weird to me. Does anyone know what he did exactly?

: I would have emailed him directly, but I figure he's probably answered this question a hundred times already. And I also want to get some opinions and more ideas from other great people at this forum.

: Thanks.
