I have Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man on the Namco compilation disks for Playstation. The control was ok, but not great with the regular psx pad. When I tried it with an 8-way joystick (not a Happs-just a 3rd party PSX fighter stick) they were practically unplayable.
Frogger might not be so bad, but what happens in pac man is if you're moving sideways and you want to go up, sometimes you can't if you're holding the stick at a diagonal. Even trying to avoid putting the stick at a diagonal did not always work reliably. When you can't control pac man the game's not fun.
: I understand that Pac Man and Frogger weren't designed for use with 8 way joysticks. However is it really that difficult to play with an 8 way? I'm sure it will require getting used to, but has anyone here really been extremely frustrated by using an 8 way for frogger?
