Hi,
Auto Disable doesn't 'undisable' games if you set
it to 'no' - it just doesn't automatically mark new ones
as disabled

Reason being - you might have manually disabled the games yourself,
and so wouldn't want AOS to 'undisable' them.

You can remove disable marks on games by hitting 'Ctrl'
on the selected game (cycles through H,L,R,X,D)

Or if you want to remove all the disable marks,
and you don't have a lot of specific settings/custom lists.
You can just delete your MAME.RMS file, then start up AOS.
(with Auto Disable set to 'no')

: ArcadeOS dims out games which mame cannot currently run properly, however these games are still, somewhat, playable. (Like Cabal) How do I configure ArcadeOS to let me play these games? I tried setting the Auto Disable feature to no, but it made no difference...
