OK, I've started hacking a Key Tronics keyboard. I've mapped out the matrix. I've also soldered all of my connecting wires to the PCB. I'm gonna use diodes in combination with some creative key mapping in order to minimize ghosting/masking problems. This is gonna be a cocktail DOS/ArcadeOS/Mame machine running mostly PacMan, Donkey Kong, Frogger, galaga, digdug type stuff for the kids. Not really any "head to head at the same time" type of games.

My question is: Where should I connect the diodes and in what direction should they be? Does each point on the PCB need a diode? or do I just need (1) for each switch (button, joystick direction, ect.)? If one for each switch, which side of the switch and where in the path should it be? Basically asking what's been successfull for you. Thanks.
