Thanks, but my comment about not wanting to read a book about the multimeter, was intended for someone to not direct me to a site with technical talk that a normal person would not understand.
I am not an electrician, nor have had any need for a multimeter in the past. I already knew that the multimeter uses a battery to power it. . what I didn't understand is how, with no electrical current running through the cable, is this tool able to match the correct wire-pin. W/ the help above, I now know what I need to do.
P.s. dont't worry, I won't hurt myself.
