I have to agree with everyone in this thread, the Super 4/8's are without question the best way to go. I also like the idea of having a dedicated 4 way joystick on the control panel when possible. In my last 2 control panel designs I was able to fit a dedicated 4 way along with 2 eight way sticks on a standard 8.5" x 24" surface. Just for playing Pac man, I actually used a leaf switched 4 way on one of them, it is smooth as silk but be warned they take alot less abuse and need alot more attention to keep working properly.
