: My friend John and I have (almost) completed my Gravis Gamepad Pro USB-based arcade controller using the carcass of my mostly useless ADB version. If you're interested I have information here (I'm still updating it).

Voch,

Your page looks like it will help me -- thanks.
I've bookmarked it.

I'm starting on a MacMAME cabinet. I've got a
couple of Gravis ADB GamePad's that I was going
to use, but because they're on ADB, which
GamePad comes up as controller 1 and which as 2
is random. I was going to hack MacMAME to allow
me to switch controller 1 and 2, but if the USB
controllers always come up in the same slot
(the first always comes up as 1, the second as 2),
then they'd probably be better for me to use.

A couple of questions:

1) Do the USB gamepads keep their controller
numbers, or are they randomly assigned every
time you restart your Mac?

2) Can you have 3 or more USB GamePads? I'd like
to have more than two and use the 3rd one
for extra buttons like CoinA/B, Start1/2, etc.

Thanks for any guidance.

-- Ron
