Who knew Light Emitting Diodes could be so scary!
Using KGEN, I clamped a wire on one connector of my keyboard circuit board and touched the other end to the rest of them to get my keypresses.
Of course, just to be safe, I marked the connectors going to the SCR, NUM, and CAPS, with a marker so I wouldn't accidentally connect them. (By manually looking at the mylar matrix layout) Well, the result was strange to say the least.
Wierd, Part I. I mapped out about 50 keys. Then I decided to risk connecting the num lock connectors. It worked w/out incident. Then I connected the Scroll Lock connectors and my computer went into ape shit ju-ju freakout powersave mode! (Meaning I probably connected something in a way it wasn't meant to be connected)
Wierd Part II. While testing other keys, 2 unrelated keys produced the scroll lock key press. I retraced my circuit 5 times, but they aren't connected... What could be happening?
Thanks!
