I know I posted about it before, but I should tell you that the spinner works great right out of the box with Mame32 (and I've heard, regular mame as well), without any rewiring. After you install the joystick, you go into the controller properties in Mame32, choose "use joystick spinners", then set the axes to something like "pov x-axis" and "pov y-axis" not the ordinary x and y axes. You may have to adjust the sensitivity in Mame's controls, but it really works well. I know you're building a controller, so you might not want to use the joystick, but if you do, it's a much less expensive solution to the Tron and Discs of Tron problem where you have to move, aim and fire with just two hands. This might also work with Ikari 3. You have to calibrate the joystick from time to time, but it works.
