Keyboard hack isnt looking like a good option. Im thinking maby of getting a card to add some more game ports & doing a kb hack + jsticks...of the 50 inputs 14 are not used in game play leaving only 36 that are needed in the heat of action. The other 14 are the four player starts & 4 credit buttons & 6 buttons for mame, P for pause, F3 for reset, ` for volume, enter, tab for menu, esc to quit. I would like to have the first joystick be the arrow keys so I can use it to nav in mame & the custom interface im gonna write. Any thoughts? Can you use 2 LP24 encoders together somehow without a big performance loss? Also, can anyone suggest a good keybaord to hack. I have bought 2 and both are lousy with no place to solder too on half the board. Can I order these boards for like $5 instead of having to spend 12 on a keyboard? Is there a preferred kb for hacking? I have seen many descriptions of kb hacking but is there a page with very detailed description of the diod hack on a specific kb so I could get that same keyboard & follow along? BTW, I ordered my stuff from happs & cost me like 125 for controls & t-molding, im maming an All American Football cabinet.
