Keyboard controller problems?

I have had a problem with both the KE 24 and a pair of Powerramps chained. It seems that after several hours my computer fails to register that buttons have been released.

I first noticed it after several hours of Gauntlet running under '95 (KE 24 and a keyboard). I rebooted and the problem continued after just a few minutes of playing (my character just headed south). I then powered down and the restarted in DOS, no better. I then removed all but the keyboard and tried other programs, to no avail.

Now I have a pair of Powerramps and it has started again. My guess is that my keyboard controller is overheating. Before I get in there and strap on a heat sink, does anyone have an idea or similar problem? (BTW this is a FIC PA 2007)
