Use a multimeter. In case you or someone else
doesn't know, a multimeter measures a variety of
electrical qualities, such as AC volts, DC volts,
resistance, etc. One thing they measure is
continuity. Continuity == Does this end of the
wire match up with this one over here? If two ends
are electrically connected, it tones. If they don't
(different wires, or a break in the wire for instance),
no tone. Extremely handy, and multimeters can be
had for cheap at RatShack.

Good luck! :)

: Ok, so I started out on my merry keyboard matrix mapping project. I looked over the membrane and realized that following the traces w/ my eyes is tough, and the potential to screw up is great.

: I thought, hey! I'll just jumper the contacts together to test my combos, but then I remembered the LED warning (excess voltage)

: So I traced the LEDs, but they all seem to end up where all the contacts end up... in this big black blob that resembles some sort of IC. . .

: Anyone know a safe way to find out which contacts are wired into the LEDs, so I don't fry my setup? Thanks for your help!

: PS - if this description is inadequate, I can post a scan somewhere...

: Thanks in advance, Freez
