Since your second panel only uses 6 inputs total (unless there are coin/start/admin buttons on it), it would probably be easier to just run some wire from the ipac to the second panel instead of making it truly/fully interchangeable. Unless I've misunderstood you somehow... You'd only need to run 7 wires total from the ipac to the second panel. You should probably use quick disconnects or some kind of connector (molex, serial, joy-cable, whatever) if you expect to be switching between panels often. And long lengths of cable/wire. If space isn't an issue, you could just keep it wired up all the time and, with long enough wires (bundled for neatness) or cable, keep it under your desk or nearby. Then you won't have to go to the trouble of a lot of extra wiring. Since the IPACs already mounted INSIDE the big panel, you'd have to keep it nearby anyway even if you went to interchangeable-panels route (unless you unmount it and keep it in some kind of little box by itself).

hm. a reply 3 days after the original post... I wonder if this will be read by the poster or anyone else...

: I have just finished building 2 control panels. One dual super joystick panel for all of the games i like to play (robotron, defender, fighting games, etc..), and one small one for my wife with the Happs red ball pac-man/galaga joystick and 2 buttons(fire,thrust/jump). I have the I-pac mounted and wired to the large panel already. My question is --- Is there a way to use (or wire) the I-pac in the big box for the little one also. Or what would I need to do/get/use to make them interchangeable (using the same I-pac). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
