I've building my own desktop control panel. I've decided not to cover the top panel with any material ala plexiglass or lexan. Instead I'm painting it with black paint and with varnish, lac or whatever it is called (to give it soft and clean feeling). Now the problem is how to add artwork. I just need some little white arrows around the stick and a little logo on a corner. I could use transparent adhesive and print them. But, how can I make these durable? Could I glue them to the top panel (already painted black) then add varnish on them? Would it be a better idea to use masks and paint them directly on the top panel?
