Do you have the "keepaspect" setting (in mame.ini) set to 1? If its set to 0 it will stretch it both viertically and horizontally as far as it can, whereas with it set to 1 it will only stretch as far as it can and still keep the proper game screen ratio...

: I'm having this problem using MameW where if I play vertical games, the screen gets stretched really wide, even if I uncheck the stretch box in options. My only choice if I want to play these games is to rotate my monitor. Not very convenient for my desktop. Any suggestions?
