Several months ago someone asked the same question. From what I recall, the Tron encoder used 6 wires and they had no wiring diagram. Do you have a manual or schematic?

To save time and headaches I would probably opt for the Happs encoder. It is proven to work with the Optipac, and others. It'll cost you $16.00 + shipping but save you lots in other ways.

: I just recently picked up a used Tron control panel with a blue handle(schweet!) However much to my dissapointment the panel was in fairly poor shape...It was very rusty among other things. I took it over ot my girfriends dads shop and dismantled the unit and then sandblasted the rusty parts....all I can say is wow....looks practically brand new....the spinner now spins and the all the rubber on the joystick is in great condition. My question has to do with the spinner...has anyone ever used a tron spinner with a Ke72 or similar device? or would it just be easier to replace the original Tron circuit with say either a mouse hack or a Happ Optical Encoder? Thanks...also would you guys consider it blasphemous to convert a Karate Champ upright? I don't consider it to be that classic of a game...although it is a single player cab. Anyways as always thanks for any input.
