There are a whack of video options that you can choose from in ZSNES, not the least of which is 320x200 x 8 bit, which we all know should work fine with an arcade monitor.
I think the problem is that the emulator is picking its resolutions, when I'd prefer if it would be stupid, and just take what AOS gives it. Perhaps I need to be looking at a different EMU for this application.
: It might be that an SNES is medium-resolution (512x448 I think) at 256 colors. Maybe the Arcade monitor cannot handle this.

: : Is anyone using the Dos version of ZSNES on a cab setup with a standard arcade monitor? There are a number of video options available in the front end, none of which seem to work.
: : Generally, my first test with a new emu is to jump to the dos shell out of AOS and run it from there, just to make sure it runs well before I go building APP files. With ZSNES, it seems to want to set its own video modes, thereby ignoring those that were passed from AOS to the Dos Shell.
: : Any suggestions, oh ye folks with big brains?
