Good info...I don't have cable, but I know how slow "the cable guy" can be in fixing stuff.

: I sent you an email on how you might be able to fix the problem yourself. I guess I'll post it here so that everyone else can benefit from it:

: "Cable modems + thunderstorms don't have to be so evil"

: What kind of problems do you get when lots of rain/t-storms come around with your cable? When it rains a lot here, the next day I usually lose my connection. However, this is *usually* something you can fix yourself. I don't know what your setup is like, but at my house we have the cable line outside connected to a splitter which is also outside. There's a little rubber shield-type thing over the screw-on part of the cable. What happens is that water builds up inside and that causes the connection to drop. If you have an air compressor or something that can blow the water out very well, you should be able to get your connection back. I've had this happen several times. My mom would call the cable company and they said "Well, you'll have to have someone come out..." Bullshit. My dad fixes it and everyone is happy. I hope this works for you...try it next time you get a storm.

: : Well I'm posting this from work, still no internet access at home. Feh :)
