: You need 1-1/8" bit, but a bit that big it costs $50 and won't fit in a handheld drill. Even a drill press would need a Jabcob's superchuck. The other 2 options are:

Dude....you need to find a better source for your drill bits :-) I didnt pay that much for my 4" inch hole saw and it is a top name brand. And who is to say what a standard size drill is....You can get a shaft for a 1 1/8 hole saw that will fit in a 3/8 drill. If your drill is smaller than that you probably should be investing in some new tools before a controller!!

: 1) Use a hole saw (Pictured) (About $10)

Holesaws are good for metal and plexiglass but since I suspect you are probably using wood. I would reccommend a wood eater bit....it is like a spade bit (which I dont know why they even make anymore) but about a hundred times faster and better and you should be able to find one in the neighborhood of $20-25 for a good one and the size you need.

Also, before you drill. After you get all of your holes marked hit them with a center punch ($5) or drill a small hole first...1/16". This will help you to keep your holes perfectly centered when you drill the 1 1/8" hole. You'll be suprised what a difference this can make in apprearance especially when you have a bunch of buttons that are supposed to be in a straight row....it looks terrible when they are all wavy.

Ummm, some better names brand if you want to get a good quality bit...although they will be a little more expensive I reccommend. Lennox, Greenlee, Milwaukee, or Dewalt....in about that order.

: 2) Draw a 1-1/8" circle and drill a bunch of small, close-together holes on the circle.

: : Ok,
: : I am ready to drill the holes for the buttons on my joystick. What size bit does it require?
: : Thanks
