This board is great! It's nice to see MAME machine fanatics helping each other out!
I got a few questions if anyone can help!
I have the design for my cabinet set out so far, dimensions, control panel layour etc. but i'm still in the dark in some aspects of building it..
1.) I'm planning to buy a 1ghz (!) system with 128mb of ram and a ATI Radeon all in wonder, is there an esimated % of games that are playable (at a decent rate) for this type of system, or should i save and buy a faster one?
2.) As far as the control panel i need a total of 48 button inputs (its a 4 player CP, 1 joystick, 1 start button and 6 player buttons), im a little confused as to what to do, should i buy a Hagstrom KE72 ($120) or two I-PAC's (39$ each--$78) and daisy chain them? All opinions are more than appreciated!
And finally!
3.) I work at a computer assembly company, and i although i do have a basic knowledge of electronics, i always feel i could never be too careful, i want to make sure i connect the buttons right the first time (and neatly too!) does anyone know of any good sites with either general electronic advice relating to this kind of hookup or actual arcade button connecting?
