Most of the problems you're encountering are related to running AOS from Windows...it's meant to be run in pure dos. It was also designed to run well on arcade monitors which is why the resolution and hz are so low.

I use AOS on my arcade cabinet but when I'm in Windows, I use MAME32 or Arcade@Home to run games...they just work better in the windows environment.

The other issues you have related to various switches that may need to be set within the arcadeos.cfg file...read through it as it's pretty well documented what each switch does.

Hope this helps.

: I recenty downloaded ArcadeOS, and have had many problems with it.

: 1. ArcadeOS is running at 640 X 480 resolution at 60Hz and looks terrible considering I normally run at 1024 X 768 @ 85Hz.

: 2. Screen shots look terrible. Not sure if it is because of the low-res. Also, how do I get ArcadeOS to display cabinet pics/marquees?

: 3. Every time I exit a game, it goes back to windows with ArcadeOS minimized at the bottom. Would running it in DOS help?

: 4. Every time I start a game, and it comes up with the nag screens, (which I thought ArcadeOS was supposed to get rid of) the mouse cursor is there, obstructing my view, until I move the mouse. Again, would DOS help?

: 5. I can't figure out how to use custom folders for sorting games, such as what king of controlles they use.

: 6. What version of MAME should I use with ArcadeOS? Win32, DOS, Pentium version?

:
: Thanks a lot to anyone who can help me!
: Russ
