according to the keyboard hacking section of mameworld.net, diodes may prevent ghosting on some controlers, but modern keyboard controlers have use blocking to prevent ghosting anyway, so the diodes won't do anything. for example, my 1985 ibm AT keyboards have blocking. it is impossible to create a ghost key, no matter how many wires you connect at once.
