I bought mine and decided the same as you, the joy doesn't cut it. For the main buttons and the joy, there's a bundle of wires going to them, so you won't have to solder on to the board itself. The four 'F' buttons and the small Enter and Esc, you have to solder on the board itself.

I'm going to have to take it apart again soon, and look it over some more.

I'll be getting the wood for my project(a full cabinet, from scratch) this weekend, I'm using a PR hack for most of the buttons, and an interact 3D Program Pad for Player 2.

: I'm going to use a PR hack in my panel, quite easy it seems.
: More when I get home...

: : Here's an idea I was throwing around in my head. First off, I got the powerramp cause it was a cheap quick solution to arcade control, 2nd, I hate the "switchy" feel of the joystick. I am thinking of taking the guts out of this controller and putting them into my own controller frame. The reason being is to change the joystick to a happ 4way/8way switcher. I'm pretty sure I can get this to go, but wondered if I could get some feedback and possibly some tips and pointers from you "pro's". Thanks guys.
