Lemme start off by saying my objective with my control panel...this isn't made to recreate any arcade game. In fact it'll probably look very different from any arcade game when it's done. I also am not completely happy with most US arcade controls...most of the time I have to use a lot of force and can't be as precise as I want to be. I heard the japanese arcade controls are more like what I'm looking for, small movement distance, more precise etc. I decided I wanted to emulate something like that.

After some guess work, I figured they used wico style sticks (ball top, less resistance, smaller snapback). I wanted to get a Wico leaf joystick from videoconnect and also competition pushbuttons (I'm a fighting game fan and the convex shape seems like it'd take less effort, but I've never actually seen them in action...I've been wavering back and forth on this a lot). Now the only place that sells competitions is Happ...Bob Roberts, videoconnect, nobody has them. Happ has a $25 minimum order, meaning I'd have to buy a joystick I won't use, or a crap load more buttons then I actually need. Plus I pay double the shipping most likely.

What should I do? The options I see now are:

1) Screw the leaf style joystick. This way I could get everything from Bob Roberts and it'd be cheaper. I'd be back to ramming the joystick just to pull off moves though.

2) Screw the competition buttons. This is the way most of you would do it I bet, but I honestly want to try out the comp's, they sound like something more towards my style of play. This way I order everything from videoconnect.

3) Get the comp's and the leaf style joystick. This way I pay double for shipping and end up with something I won't use right away.

4) Buy both kinds of joysticks and buttons and sell off the ones I don't like. This is tempting because I can truly figure out what I want. Downside is shipping is more (ordering from more then one place), and no guarantee that whatever I don't want will sell for a decent price (either of the joysticks will probably do fine, but the demand for comp. buttons doesn't seem to be very high).

So...does anyone know any other options, or strongly recommend an option from above, or know a reputable vendor that sells both comp's and leaf style joysticks? Your help is much appreciated.
