I am using a Saturn controller extension cable ($0.99 from FuncoLand) to build the adapter. The instructions on the DirectPad Pro site for identifying pin 1 on the Saturn connector are ambiguous. They don't specify that you are looking at the male end from the Saturn controller or the female end of an extension cable.

If I am looking at the female end of the Saturn controller extension cable with the narrower side facing up (like it is on the Saturn console), which side is pin 1 (corresponding to the DirectPad Pro Saturn circuit at http://www.ziplabel.com/dpadpro/saturn.html
)?

If I had to guess, I would say that they are talking about the male end from the Saturn controller and are assuming that you are cutting the connector off to permanently attach the Saturn controller to the parallel port adapter.

The instructions at the web site say to hold the Saturn connecter the way I am describing, but do not say if it is the male end or the female end.

I have a lot of the different Saturn controllers and would like to try them out on my PC. I made a PSX adapter using the instructions that I found in a link in the alternatives section. The instructions for the PSX adapter identified the connections to the PSX with some excellent diagrams.
