Mine is serial. I haven't got a chance to really test it yet (get sent to the office and using it there). Trouble with some is that you can't spin it really fast. BTW, the only place to get them now seems to be ebay. I paid 20 bucks for mine, and kinda wish I purchased an imperial trackball with ps2 connection instead (for 80 bucks). (have the link at the office).
