Here is an alternative for games like qbert in Mame:
remap the keys to:
Right -> Down Right
Left -> Up Left
Up -> Up Right
Down -> Down Left
you can remap an input to two keys by pressing one of the keys and then press the second one.
what this simply does is make the game only respond to the diagonals.
