ABSOLUTELY!!! If you run any part of your body across the bottom of the circuit board, you could get a possibly lethal ZAPPP!

Always always always discharge the CRT before working inside the guts of a TV or monitor, and it's also a good idea to stay away from any of the large capacitors on the circuit board, even after you discharge.

: I'm planning on using a 25" TV removed from its plastic casing for my arcade monitor. My question is, if I'm not planning on messing with anything else inside the TV, aside from removing it and mounting it, do I need to discharge the CRT? I'm not planning on removing the anode from the tube or the pcb.
: any help on this topic would be appreciated.
: thanks
