You may want a few of those buttons for P1 & P2 Start buttons and a coin button or two.

: Thanks...that clears everything up!!!!

: so 2 8 ways joysticks, 16 buttons should work perfectly with my ke24(default)...making exactly 24 connections...perfect for street fighter?

: : The only difference is the shape of the actuator, a small plastic piece at the bottom of the stick.
: : In a 4-way joystick the actuator is round, and will not allow you to touch two directions at once, hence you only get n,s,e,w. In an 8 way stick it is square, and as you said you can get diagonals by touching two switches at once.

: : : How come for both the 4 and 8 ways(super, ultimate) there are only 4 microswitches/leaf?? I understand that there are 4 for north, south, east and west...and the diagnols would be just two switches hitting at the same time...so that would work for the 4way..but for the 8way shouldn't there be another 4 switches making it a total of 8???
