Not sure what you are looking for but I've glanced at the code and it uses the com ports. It appears there are three LCD functions.
1. A hardcoded filename of aos.lcd is the file which is a startup lcd display.
2. Gameinfo which is .lcd. This probably displays during the game. Looks like it has room for 4Kbytes of data.
3. Shutdown LCD. Don't see a hardcoded name here. Probably displays the next 4KB of the gameinfo.lcd file.

That's it. I believe the spec for LCD displays varies from lcd to lcd but maybe not. In anycase, it looks like you can use any format as the data is just written out the com port.
