I use GameLauncher for MAME, Retrocade, and O2Em.

When GameLauncher does what you describe it means that the Emulator probably kicked out an error and shut down. This usually means that an option was not configured properly or the ROM is misnamed. One example is the use_extension, if it is set wrong for a particular emulator, the emulator won't start.

By the way, It is possible to use GameLauncher to run .BAT files and standalone DOS games like Doom. I have an IPAC encoder, and I have setup GameLauncher so that it runs a .BAT for each game. The .BAT runs the IPAC utility to load the proper key configuration and then launches the emulator. This is especially handy for emulators that do not have the ability to remap the keys.

It requires a lot more set up to use GameLauncher this way, but the results are worth the effort.

To do this you use CALL as the executable, and BAT as the rom_extension.

: I can't seem to get it to work right. Any time I load a game, it simply goes back to the menu. I have tryed MAME, ZSNES, and RockNES. Any suggestions on how I should be setting the config files?
