May get a vertical 19" monitor with cabinet this weekend but nervous about hooking it up to a computer. Is this something that only pros should do or is it as easy for a newbie to understand?

Im not to good with electrical stuff, mainly because I've not done it enough. I'm sure from reading what others have done that it appears to be a simple operation. I'm nervous about ruining it and being out the money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
