I picked one up at the salvation army for 7.99 cool eh?! anyone have any trackball smoothing remedy? thanks in advance

: I picked up one of these trackballs for only $5 new (OEM) at a local shop. They usually retail for around $40-50 new so I decided to pick it up. This thing can really spin! It's great for games like Missile Command and Centipede when it's properly calibrated.

: My question is about a plate for mounting it on my control pane. This thing is HUGE. I'm not sure about the exact size, but I'd guess it's about a 4-5 inch ball. Would the Happ 3" plate be easy to cut or should I try some other kind of plate? I'd really like it to sit inside of the panel rather than on top of it. Any suggestions?

: If anyone sees one of these for cheap get it! It's got one button, which is perfect for navigation in Windows. I, probably like a lot of other people, am not going to be playing a lot of trackball games, so I couldn't really justify dropping $80 for a real arcade one.

: Anyway, any help will be much appreciated!
