Do I need to solder that stuff? I'll need to get a solder iron too as its been years since I did electronics. I'd rather cough up £15 or whatever and get one in the post.
I really appreciate your help and I may get my mate to do this. And my TV is 12 years old and starting to go wrong now anyway so I wont be too upset if it all goes up in smoke.
