question on happ monitor bezel

I have a 20" monitor with a roughly 19" viewable image area. would a happ monitor bezel fit over the bezel of the original monitor? is the diagonal length of the happ units exactly 19"? The bezel height on this monitor is about 1/2" tall. would it be easier to just take the casing off and put the happ bezel over it? has anyone done this before?
