Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I will try to make this my last console centered post. Anyways, I am having problems with SNES emulators. I am curently using an computer with a 700 mhz duron processor, 128mb ram, a SB16 sound card, and a Trident Blade 3D 8M videocard. It is great for arcade emulation, but SNES is crap. My dreams of building a console emulation box will be crushed if I can't get SNES games running better. I havn't tryed NES emulation yet, but if it is similar, I am going to be angry.

ZSNES Win9x version is insainly slow. Even the cursor in the GUI is jumpy. Games run at a full 4 fps. Tryed different video modes, but it didn't change much.

SNES9X (windows version) is ok, but still slow. And sound is not so good. Descent speeds, but still chopy without full screen or screen effects (scan lines, eagle mode etc.)

I have a couple of PSX/N64 to USB converters, so I shy away from DOS emulators. I can not for the life of me figure out joy2key (can set keys, but what do I do with the config file?) I tryed the DOS version of ZSNES, and it worked ok. Full screen drops the speed down to the 15 to 20 FPS though. The regular centered square only brings it up to 38 to 40.

I have a ATi Rage Fury 32M card on the way now, and I want to play these games full screen an a TV. What are the optimal settings to do this. I hear ZSNES mentioned a lot on this board, so if you have any tips, please share them. Thanks!
