Using a TV in a cabinet..

I'm having trouble getting games to display right on my tv. Basically I'm using an external box that outputs to the TV (it goes between the video card and the monitor). When I setup and center one game on the screen, I go and play another and it's hanging off edges, etc. Is there any utility or trick to getting al lgames to stay on the screen? Thanks.
