Yes, that was me -- little specks. I've minimized it by setting the default screen resolution to 800x600 in Mame32, so at least the specs are small :) The rest of the screen scales appropriately, so the game isn't affected.

To recap: ATI Rage Fury Pro, s-video out, bands of static moving up the screen in Defender and Robotron (any others?). I've tried changing the triple buffering, the memory settings, the TV config settings, the AGP speed, the drivers, etc. etc. with no changes. Also, the specks go away at some points (for example, when you explode in Defender -- happens a lot to me for some reason :).

No magnets nearby except for the speakers in the TV.

: Ok, I thought I saw a thread in here, in fact I replied to it.

: The thread was about Problems with ATI Rage Fury Pro cards having weird little bits of distortion where there would be white specks that travel along the screen in a horizontal band.

: Does anyone remember this, more importantly does anyone know what the solution was because I am having this happen now as well.
