As for a wheel, I got a nice set of supersprint ones off ebay. But if you want to build your own... there are so many ways to do it.

If you are looking to save $... you could always use a precut circle of wood as the wheel.
Or even a mini-wheel from a toy. I saw a plastic wheel for an outdoor playset available in chase pitkin.
Could get a shaft that is threaded but also fits inside rollerblade bearings for a nice smooth spin. Use mouse optics for the sensor.

Being that there are 2 types of wheels... I would choose to build one that goes all 360 degrees arround. That would work with all games...vs only some of the others.

: Brilliant. All I need now is a decent wheel. What did you do for this & how well does it work. Do different games need different types of wheel (would wnat to play Roadblasters, Chase HQ & Outrun).
