: How come when I run arcadeos in a dos shell, I can run any game I want but when I run in the bootgui mode and go directly to DOS I get errors when some of the games launch...I'm assuming these are memory errors. I have CWSDPMI in my mame directory..

: What gives?

Could be a RAM issue, if you only have 64mb of RAM or less, some of the games won't run because they are too big to fit into memory. This is because without windows running you don't have virtual memory to swap out to when you run out of the real thing.
