I have made several control panels in metal for my cabinet. I bought some hole cutters (one for buttons and joysticks + one for trackballs) made for cutting metal and just drilled the holes I wanted. Some sort of lubricants are recommended but I havn't used anything. I usually drill around 16..17 holes in a row for every control panel. The drill bits get a bit hot but they are still sharp and looks allright.

: I recently picked up a 25" JAMMA (old virtua fighter cab) The control panel is existing... I would like to use it but it is sheet metal -- has anyone cut 1 1/8" holes in sheet metal -- if so which bit would you recommend using? There is a pic of a started hole (failed after the bit got too hot ;>)

: Thank you,
