yes. at least judging by the playability of games with my wingman warrior. it isn't mame has a problem so much as it's too hard for the wrist to know exactly how far to push the stick from neutral before it "engages". i suppose it might be "OK" for games like pac-man where the stick is almost always in one direction or another. it makes games like gauntlet unplayable.
