I always sucked at Defender. My best friend would always blow me away. that's OK I got the best of him in Tempest. I am going to try what pacfan mentioned. That way I have a joystick and three buttons, fire, smart bomb and hyperspace.

: Like this.. (or something close...) the row of buttons will be slightly angled so the bottom row can be used 4 in a row without any trouble like neogeo games. But I want to make sure I can play defender like the real thing
