All you need is to go to www.happcontrols.com and order 2 8 way joysticks, 14 pushbuttons(6 for player 1 6 for player 2 and 2 for the player 1 and 2 start) w/ the cherry microswitches, Then order an IPAC from www.spaceinvaders.uk.com ( VERY VERY SIMPLE TO WIRE UP) then get yourself some plywood and a 1 1/8" hole cutting bit( dont get a hole saw they suck and they wont work with plexi glass) make a template of where you want your buttons on the wood, then attach a piece of plexi glass to the wood and put a piece of scrap under the plexi and cut your holes. for a nice effect you can spary paint the underside of the glass for a professional look.
wiring is a sinch. on each microswitch there are 3 prongs labled NO NC COM all you need to do is wire all the COM prongs together and have one wire from any COM go to ground on the IPAC, The reat is easy now wire each NO prong to the IPAC for the appropriate function ie. up,down,left,right the IPAC is labled for you so it coulnt be simpler.
