When you are playing a gun game, You pull the trigger setting off a signal for the screen to flash white for a minor part of a second. While the screen redraws from top to bottom the senser in the gun sends a signal to the system as to how long it took the optics in the gun to see the white color. The faster the gun saw the white the closer to the top of the screen ect. The games come coded to read how long vertically and horizontaly it would take the gun to see the white flash as to where the gun was fired. That is why they say in the manuals to turn up the contrast if the gun works poorly.. It makes the white whiter and the blacks, good and black. I hope this helps :) Please visit our site at
