I am planning on doing this. I'm getting my cabinet in a few weeks, but I have a happs setup for my computer now (just the controls).

The trouble is I haven't come up with a way to attach it that both looks good, and is easy to swap. I also have the trouble that I don't know what material to use and what templete to use (and how to create it as I go to make sure it works well).

What I'm thinking will be the best is to create some hard foam initially that has a lip on it.

So I cut a circle out of cardboard (initially) that is bigger then the circle cut into the wood. then another circle that just fits inside the cut wood that the joystick goes through.

Glue them together, and cut it in 1/2.

next, cut a circle in the center (if you but the together) that represents the joystick in central location.

Now I should be able to slide it under the black joystick crap protector circle thingy... (like my technical terms)

Next, cut a templet out of the cardboard and carefully test it until it has good action and goes in just 2 directions (and repeat the whole thing for 4 directions.

Last, I would try to come up with a stronger material to do this in. Some good hard peices of plastic might work, or maybe spend some cash for some good metal of something.

Troubles. making in fit just right so it doesn't move around. This will be the hardest part of all. I could see adding two notches to the cut circle just so I could add the 2/4 way templetes and not have them move around.

The other idea is to tackle it from the bottom. Trouble is that my cabinet doesn't give easy access from teh bottom.
